Vapor Tech now offers in-line flame arrestors for rent as an option for most of our vapor scrubbers and carbon boxes. We will also begin selling smaller 2" versions early in 2009.

Flame arrestors have started to become mandatory in many refineries and chemical plants. They are primarily needed anytime the vapor being sent through the scrubber contains a flammable gas (ie. hydrocarbons). In the extremely remote chance the scrubber or carbon bed were to catch fire or explode, the flame arrestor would stop the flame from making it back to the source tank via the vapor line.

In our 10 years of existance, we have never had one of our scrubber units explode or catch fire. They are the safest and cleanest vapor recovery technology on the market. However, flame arrestors add another level of safety to this already safe technology.
